Is rafting dangerous?

The Cetina river is suitable for both novice and experienced rafters. See also the article “What grade is the Cetina river in Omis”

With modern rafts and compliance with all safety regulations, the risk of injury can be reduced to a minimum. This has made rafting a very safe sport. Nevertheless, it must be pointed out that – as with any sport – injuries cannot be ruled out 100%.

Before each tour, all of our guests are briefed on safety by our guides.

During the safety talk, it is ensured, among other things, that you

  • are healthy
  • have not consumed alcohol or drugs
  • not carrying any valuables with you

Then we explain the seating position to you: You sit on the bulge of the boat facing the direction of travel. The paddlers sit on the outer bead and have the paddle either on the right or left in the water. The guide sits in the middle at the back and supports you when paddling or steering the rafting boat.

It is important that you always have your feet in the rafting foot straps in the raft. This ensures that you cannot easily fall out of the boat in whitewater.

Safety enables fun in outdoor sports. That is why it is particularly important to us that our guides are not only extremely highly qualified in terms of their sport, but also fit into this responsible job as people. A smile and fun at work as well as good and friendly customer service are very important for working together in our company. With our selected guides, we enable you to forget your worries and fears in addition to professional safety and competence and to devote yourself fully to the adventure.

Nevertheless, it is important to bring a certain degree of personal responsibility with you. Unforeseen dangers such as falling rocks or twisting your ankle while walking can occur despite perfect preparation and highly trained guides. As long as every participant takes care of himself and doesn’t do anything stupid, our tours are very safe.
